OBSESSED WITH HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Humans are the most complex machines on earth. That’s why I find us all so endlessly fascinating and have poured my obsession into my work and education. I’m an award-winning author of 14 books including Dear Body, Love Me. I’ve received an iParenting Media Excellence Award, and was a Gold Recipient of a Mom’s Choice Award. To explore my love of understanding human behavior, I won a yearlong fellowship from the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society to study with a team of therapists. I’m a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and Great Story Coach.
My formal education includes degrees in English and Women’s Studies from Wellesley College and an M.F.A. in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College. I’m a member of the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST and my company, Heartwood Healing, is a network organization on the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience. I recently served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Loft Literary Center. And recently accepted a position on the board of the Dragon Divas, a nonprofit dragon boat racing team for breast cancer survivors.
